"…those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Is. 40:31)
Trusting God is a choice, one we must make daily. He is faithful and can be trusted, but it is up to you and me to choose to trust Him.
Give Him whatever is weighing you down, whatever is troubling you, whatever is causing you pain~give it to God today and watch Him create something beautiful out of it. And He will bless you with rest!
“Then the Lord said to him, “Go back to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you.” (Gen. 31:3)
Jacob had wronged his brother long ago, and now it was time to “fix” it. He had no idea how his brother would react to seeing him. He was afraid. But, he knew God is bigger than fear, stronger than any danger, and he chose to trust God. He trusted Him with the details enough to obey.
God wants us to have true peace and lasting joy. Not just on the surface, but deep inside in our innermost heart. Late at night, when the world is still and quiet, He wants us to rest in complete peace!
And God knows, the only way for lasting, perfect peace—we must deal with our “stuff”. We can’t cram it down, hide it, ignore it, or run from it. No, the only way to be truly free is to remove its hold, its power over us, by bringing it into the light and trusting God.
God wants us to live in complete freedom in every way! Sometimes we need forgiveness. Sometimes we need to forgive. Sometimes, we need both. But there is always freedom!
Trust, Obey, Rest…Repeat
Is there something (or someone) from your past that needs God’s reconciliation? Forgiveness? Grace? Give it to God and watch Him do the miraculous in you and through you. It won’t be easy. It might be one of the hardest things you’ve ever done. But when we obey God, He will bring healing, freedom, and joy…
Trust God for the miraculous! Go… right now!
Lord, You direct my path and guide my steps.
Quiet my thoughts, help me be still in Your presence and hear You.
Whatever you ask me to do, strengthen me to obey with confidence and joy,
knowing You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

I would love to hear from you!
For prayer
If you would like prayer for any reason, it would be my joy and delight to lift you to the Father. For encouragement
I would love to hear from you and know your thoughts on this post. I am grateful for your encouragement, and I would love to encourage you in any way I can!
I am a wife, homeschool mom, writer, and most importantly, a redeemed, forgiven child of God! I have seen Jesus work miracles of transformation, grace, and healing, and I want to share His love with you!

I love the scripture you shared. Having to go back and face the music is tough, but Jacob was rewarded for humbling himself. I know that my faith is blessed when I humble myself and disaster occurs the minute I let pride trip me up.
Thank you so much Jennifer! Pride is such a common struggle and one I deal with often. It’s always hard to humble ourselves, but always opens the door for God to do mighty things, and disaster does seem to always follow pride! Blessings 😀
So many people are trying to create peace in their lives, but aren’t able to. It’s because you can’t produce peace. When we trust in the Lord, that’s when peace comes. Jesus is the prince of peace!
Amen and amen! Absolutely, Janell, you are so right. The only true peace is from Jesus. I have a devotional called Jesus Peace based on this very topic, with John 14:27 as the foundation~Jesus has given us His peace! We can’t find it anywhere but in Him. Thank you 😀
These past 10 years have been one trial after the other, but God was there to hold my hand every step of the way. God can and will use those hard times to refine and mold us to be a little more like Him. He is faithful!
I rejoice with you that He never leaves us! It’s in those darkest, hardest moments we begin to feel that peace beyond understanding! We’ve had many struggles the last few years too, mostly with the health of my son and my own health, but when the struggle is the greatest, He stayed the closest and we’ve all grown so much in our trust and faith in Him. Thank you for sharing!
God has been and continues to work on me with trust – I know I have come further than I could have imagined but also know there is still plenty of work left to do. I think it’s a life long journey but as you say the deeper and fuller we trust the deeper and fuller our shalom.
You and me both! I think no matter how much we learn to trust God, there is always room to trust Him more and deepen our faith in Him! May God bless you abundantly!
