Daily Prayer 6/24/15, Guarding my Words

at His feet Daily Prayer

Guarding my Words

Lord, teach me to use my words wisely. Remind me to be cautious with my yes and not over commit and overcrowd my schedule, and please strengthen me to say no when necessary. God, I surrender my thoughts to You. I ask that You would guard my mouth, and keep me from foolish, needless talk that dishonors You. Keep me from gossip and protect my reputation. May I be a person of faithfulness in all I say and do, a good steward of my time and my words, and one who brings You glory. Forgive me for any instance of using Your name in vain. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Time in the Word: Matthew 5

Matthew 5:37 guarding my words

Let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No.” For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. (Matthew 5:37)
