Swimming! Such a seemingly ordinary, everyday thing BUT it feels like a miracle today! What joy I feel in my heart watching Connor in the pool swimming with his brother and dad- it’s almost overwhelming! I am so grateful to God that he is healthy enough to enjoy life again. He has been so sick for so long and it is a tremendous blessing to watch him smile, laugh, and enjoy “normal” activities with his family and friends!
Joy, real joy, has absolutely nothing to do with the circumstances of our day. Joy comes from the LORD- not our circumstances! I am happy that our family is home and relieved that we are all together and the joy I feel is bubbling over. BUT I have learned recently how even in the worst of circumstances, when the world seems to stop spinning, and even the next breath seems impossible, there can still be joy- an unexplainable peace that only comes from our Heavenly Father!
I am so grateful for the good times, but I realize I must also be grateful in the difficult times! Thank You Lord for joy, not just happiness, but true joy!
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17)
